P90X

Well today was the first day of Lindsey and I doing the P90X program. It was three workouts: chest/back, and Abs. I don't think i'm in the greatest shape, however I know I'm not in bad shape. This workout is no joke though, I mean it is serious! I think the Ab workout was only 15 minutes....but we did 300 or something reps of Ab workouts! I was exhausted, like no joke tomorrow is going to be hell! Then being crazy I ran to the store to get Lindsey some bread and Chloreseptic for her throat. It was only a 20 min run and I didn't really need to run after the P90X, however I really wanted to break in the new shoes I got. All in all good afternoon workout and I love it.

New Ink

Hey everyone, well things around here are well. Work is going well, and the kiddies are GREAT working me out. Today I started my left arm sleeve! I've been waiting on this for a long time so it's great to finally get it started. I had the best tattooist I've ever had, great work ethic, and outstanding artist! If your in Hawaii and thinking about getting a tattoo I defiantly recommend the people (Joe especially) at "Hawaiian Tattoo Company in Honolulu on Kapahulu st.

Lindsey and I are getting ready to start the P90X program. We are both really looking forward to it. It might be more me than Lindsey....however yesterday she said she was really looking forward to starting. I showed her the video last night, and she was excited, so that will be fun for us to do together.

Last week I was having a little problem with my left foot after running. I run about 3 miles everyday. It's not allot and I really should be doing 5 miles a day. So today I decided to go to one of those specialty stores for running shoes, and see what they said about the running shoes I have and what might be causing it. I was running in Nike Free's...a good running shoe however not for long distances. Apparently the shoe is a "barefoot" running style shoe. It's designed for runners who want to strengthen their feet. It's not made for everyday long running. So then they told me that when I run that I pro nate my feet (turn inward). So they fitted me with a shoe for my gait, and running style. I can't wait to run in them tomorrow it's gonna be great I think. I just hope that it will help me run farther.

stay tuned everyone!

Christian's Birthday Party!!

Hey everyone, as most of you know today was Christian's Birthday party. It went really well, he really liked it when everyone sang "Happy Birthday"!! It's so wild to think how the time has passed SO FAST. I remember when I was holding him in my hands and he was just a little guy. Where has the time gone?!

I talked with my mom the other day and she was reminiscing with me about when I was a kid. It got me thinking about all the things that I will be able to think back on with Christian when he's.....(god I can't believe I'm about to say this) 25! (I'll be 46!) I know that I will have so many memories to share with him! I think that's so cool!

Well I thought I'd share a few pics from the party...and some of baby Christian....an ode to the past if you will....take care all...and don't' forget to stop by Lindsey's blog! I will say it's been a great 4 years and I can't wait to see what the future holds for him and Kingston!

In My Name

So I was watching music video's today and came across one by an artist named will.i.am (The Black Eyed Peas). The video brought some light to something that we all kind of know about. You would have to live under a rock to not know about world poverty, famine, and mother mortality. It's almost crazy to think about life in a a third world country. However after my tour I have seen how some of these people live...the US consumer spent 30 billion dollars in electronic gifts last year, China spent 30 billion in preparation for the Olympics!!

The website is www.inmyname.com. I urge anyone that views this blog to at least look at the page. It's free no commitment to every buy anything, just your name and a pledge to help educate others and assist the Millennium Development Goals.

Back to Work

Well on Monday, I have to go back to work for real. It's been nice having these 30 days off, going to the pool with the kids, hanging out. Now it's back to the grind....these 4-6 hour days are going to be gruesome!! LOL. For those of you keeping up with my SWCC goal, I have been running at least 2 miles every....other day or so. Lindsey has been going with me. I started the packet for my selection so I should get that done by months end....I don't have to take the advancement exam, so I can save the points which is nice. I wish that I could be in school when the test is given, however I think that is wishful thinking. Other than that, I'm just enjoying being home, and with my family....soaking in some of the things you take for granted. I truly forgot how good carpet feels!

Re-adjusting

Well it's been a couple weeks now that I've been back in the USA, it's a little "unrealistic". In a way I guess it's because I feel like I'm dreaming a little, and I'll wake up back in Iraq. I'm sure this will pass, I've already noticed that I have gotten more acquainted with things around me. Lindsey and I are keeping busy, not hard to do with two kids. We have been jogging, and swimming while Christian is in school, so that's always good. Christian is doing well in school, he improves everyday! It's so awesome to watch both boys grow daily.

We are very excited about Christian's birthday on the 10Th of October, and then Thanksgiving, and our trip to California for the Christmas holiday, with my whole family. I haven't seen some of my extended family in 7-10 years, so I'm very excited for them to meet Lindsey, and the boys.

Well that's about it for now, stay tuned

oh, and I think the blog due for a change in name so look out for that....
